about me
I spent most of my life in Greenwood, Indiana, learning about and growing from the nuances of small-town living. In 2020, I moved to Wilmore, KY to study journalism and literature at Asbury University. My time at Asbury allowed me to invest in the stories I care about - starting as News Editor for the student-run newspaper and eventually becoming Executive Editor. I've been in love with journalism for 7 years now, and after graduating, it feels odd to be out of practice. In an attempt to scratch the itch, I've started writing creative nonfiction(ish) stories and poetry in my free time. When I'm not writing, I'm probably reading weird short stories, taking photos of my friends, or drinking a latte.
There is solace in stories, whether it be through books, film, music, or art. The way a creator can craft someone's specific experience to be relatable and resonant with a broader audience is incredibly admirable. Through different storytelling mediums, I attempt to turn pieces of my experiences into something that nudges others to see an element of life differently, even if it is minuscule.
